  • More about tea than you knew when you arrived

I love to help people discover tea with its many dimensions of experience. My business, Experience Tea, is a reflection of all I feel about tea and what it has to offer others. As a tea lover for many years, I was frustrated with the limited opportunity to buy good loose-leaf tea, but more importantly, there was little information or classes in which to learn tea. In 2008 I left my former career in banking and began a journey of education and creativity to provide a place for others to learn about tea and to buy good quality tea. I completed my professional tea studies with Special Tea Institute and am a Certified Tea Specialist. I’ve also traveled on tea tours to China (twice), Sri Lanka, Japan, and Taiwan to learn more about the botany, chemistry, production, and people of tea. My purpose in life is sharing all of this with others!

As I’ve taught and listened to parents and young people, I’ve grown to appreciate what tea may have to offer students in our multi-cultural world—to appreciate other cultures while learning how one simple leaf can have so many dimensions: science; history; social norms; and taste.

Experience Tea Studio offers open enrollment tea classes for individuals each week. We also do custom classes/seminars for professional groups, families, work teams, Girl Scouts, home school co-ops, and any other group of curious individuals. Tea is a wonderful way to encourage diversity awareness and sensitivity in the workplace.
